Dr. Kenneth Cooperman has been practicing dentistry since 1995, and has specialized in orthodontics since 2000. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1991, with a major in Design of the Environment, and minors in Biology and Chemistry. He graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 1995, and then spent the following year in Seattle at the University of Washington. There, he did a one-year hospital-based residency treating medically compromised dental patients in one of the foremost transplant centers in the United States. Seattle is a great place to live, so Dr. Cooperman stayed there for over two years practicing general dentistry.
He returned to New York in 1998 to begin his specialty residency in orthodontics at New York University. He opened his practice in the Bronx in 2004, and has been working there ever since!
Dr. Cooperman teaches at Jacobi Hospital in the Bronx, and is also on the faculty of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. In addition, he is a member of a number of respected professional organizations including the American Association of Orthodontists, the New York State Society of Orthodontists, the Northeast Society of Orthodontists, the Bronx County Dental Society, the First District Dental Society, the American Dental Association, and the New York State Dental Association, among others. In 2013, Dr. Cooperman became Treasurer of the New York County Dental Society, the largest local dental society in the country.
In his free time Dr. Cooperman enjoys cooking, reading, running, traveling, and spending time with his family. He runs so much because he also really likes to eat.
In April of 2010, Dr. Cooperman became the proud father of twin girls!
Dr. Maggie Mintzberg was born and raised in Brazil, where she attended the American School of Rio de Janeiro. She came to New York City in 1997 to attend college at Columbia University where she majored in Neurosciences and Behavior. Dr. Mintzberg went on to complete her dental degree at Columbia University School of Dental Medicine where she graduated at the top of her class, was a recipient of multiple awards and scholarships, published several articles in scientific journals and was appointed to the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. Dr. Mintzberg then completed a two year postgraduate program at the NYU School of Dentistry to receive her orthodontic specialty certification. Dr. Mintzberg has been happily working with Dr. Cooperman since 2007.
Dr. Mintzberg is on the faculty of Jacobi Hospital in the Bronx. In addition, she is an active member of a number of respected professional organizations including the American Association of Orthodontists, the New York County Dental Society and the American Association of Women Dentists, among others. She believes in the utmost importance of staying current with the most recent developments in the field of Orthodontics.
Dr. Mintzberg is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish.
Dr. Mintzberg loves to travel and explore New York City with her husband and two children.
